Associate - Climate & Sustainability
Global Counsel is seeking an Associate to support its growing climate and sustainability practice. The successful candidate will work for a range of international clients, including some of the most prestigious companies and investors in financial services, manufacturing, technology, pharmaceuticals and consumer goods. The role offers exposure to a wide range of high-profile policy and political issues, including emissions trading, circularity, sustainable agriculture and transport, green cities, supply chains, and many others.
Role and responsibilities
Manage the delivery of analytical research and monitoring for clients on climate and sustainability policy.
Develop and implement advocacy and thought leadership campaigns in London, Brussels and other European cities.
Build and maintain relationships with clients and a wider network of businesses and policymakers at senior levels.
Support business development by identifying potential clients, contributing to pitch processes, and proposing business development outreach campaigns.
Participate in GC marketing campaigns that contribute to live policy debates including the development of climate and sustainability events.
Produce written content and analysis in the form of policy papers, blogs and reports.
Act as an active ambassador for Global Counsel at relevant industry and policy events, and invest in developing the skills, expertise and reputation for yourself and others.
Skills and profile
Between 1-3 years of experience providing strategic and evidence-based advice on climate, energy and sustainability issues in government, international institutions, think tanks, consultancies or in-house policy team.
Demonstrated interest and/or experience in public policy and climate and sustainability issues.
Experience working for government, corporates or investors.
Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills in English.
A motivated self-starter who works well independently and as part of a team.
This is a full-time role based in London with the possibility of travel.
