David has over 25 years of experience in the Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Europe helping governments, firms, and financial institutions to interpret and find opportunities in geopolitical and geoeconomic dynamics. He has served as senior adviser to the Secretary of Foreign Affairs and Trade in New Zealand. He has also held senior roles at McKinsey & Co, including as a senior fellow with the McKinsey Global Institute, the company’s in-house economic think-tank. Before joining McKinsey, David was the founding Chief Executive of the New Zealand Institute, a privately funded, non-partisan economic think tank, and was a Principal Adviser at the New Zealand Treasury.
