Jules works with clients on capital markets, banking, and payments policies, and providing expert insights on the national and supranational duality of decision-making processes.
Jules is a Senior Associate in the Financial services team at Global Counsel. Jules has an extensive experience in EU financial affairs, having begun his career at the European Commission in London, before advising the financial private sector on developments spanning European spheres. He also previously worked with Brunswick Group and served as the EU government affairs advisor at Euronext, leading pan-European exchange policy initiatives in both Brussels and Paris during Brexit, covid-19 and the war in Ukraine. More recently, Jules gained Venture Capital experience in Berlin leveraging his expertise to strategically position companies and investors amidst evolving political dynamics and new innovations.
At Global Counsel, he supports clients in the EU financial services policy practice. He works with directors and senior advisors for GC clients globally, providing state of plays in the continent and offering advice on approaching topics with relevant stakeholders.
Recent examples of his work include:
- Organising the entry of a major US trading firm in the EU’s capital markets and its tokenisation initiatives.
- Advising a major EU fund distributor in the context of market infrastructure and retail investment initiatives.
- Sparring partner to an EU bank and payment service provider in relevant jurisdictional outreaches.
