Scott advises on Labour government policy and politics, including mission delivery, international development and foreign policy, workers' rights and equalities commitments and Labour's approach to the economy.

Scott is an Associate Director in the UK politics and policy team. He joined Global Counsel from the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, where he was a Special Adviser to the Labour government, leading on international development. Scott holds a PhD in International History from the London School of Economics and spent several years as Head of Policy in the Labour Party, where he was intimately involved in the development of Labour's policy agenda prior to last year's General Election, including coordination of the Stronger Together policy review and the National Policy Forum. 

He was also a policy and media adviser to the Shadow Chancellor, Labour Party Chair and Secretary of State for Women and Equalities, supporting the communication of Labour's economic agenda after Keir Starmer became leader. Scott started out in politics as a parliamentary adviser to the current Education Secretary and has worked in the campaign and communications team at the TUC. 

At GC, he works across teams to advise on Labour government policy and politics, including mission delivery, international development and foreign policy, workers' rights and equalities commitments and Labour's approach to the economy.
