Associate

Alastair supports clients to understand how political dynamics and policy changes in the UK will impact their businesses via strategic stakeholder engagement, communications and campaigns.

Alastair is an Associate in the UK Politics and Policy team. Alastair has a background in the energy and third sectors, most recently focusing on community regeneration, skills policy and workplace equality. Previously, he worked on modelling for the Sixth Carbon Budget and on policy development for a literacy charity. He has a BSc in Economic History from the London School of Economics.

At GC, he analyses political dynamics and policy changes in the UK to support clients' understanding of how those factors impact their businesses. He also works on communications and campaigns to engage political stakeholders.

Recent examples of his work include:

  • Producing detailed briefings on policy platforms of candidates to succeed Boris Johnson as leader of the Conservative Party.
  • Developing the narrative and engagement strategy for the launch of a legal advocacy group.
  • Designing quantitative research for a fashion retailer looking to enhance its reputation among policymakers in the UK and Europe.
