Charlie is a Senior Associate in the Health and Life Sciences practice at Global Counsel. Before joining GC, Charlie worked in the UK Government’s Office for Life Sciences as Head of Access to Finance, where he developed policies to improve the UK’s life sciences investment ecosystem and business environment for growth companies. Prior to this, Charlie was a Senior Research Officer in the International Cancer Benchmarking Partnership (ICBP) at Cancer Research UK, with a focus on comparing and explaining differences in cancer care across similar jurisdictions. He started his career in public engagement for an academic research group at University College London (UCL) seeking to inform and improve the practice of Evidence-based Medicine (EBM). 

At GC, Charlie advises life sciences, healthcare, and investor clients on how to navigate political, policy and regulatory challenges and seize strategic opportunities.

Recent examples of his work include:

• Supporting UK pharmaceutical clients to understand and anticipate upcoming regulatory, policy and political changes.
• Working with national trade bodies to develop position papers that inform and shape the health innovation agenda.
• Providing analysis and insights on the UK policy landscape for biotech and medtech financing.
